OBJECTIVE
Aim of project is to establish School to train targeted users and develop Virtual Environment of
Collaboration and Communication for Scientists and Professionals from Armenia, other CIS countries
and entire world and make Armenian ICT worldwide high level brand.
Short term aim is to develop Scientific Social Network, Scientific Web Projects, Scientific Software,
Database of Summaries of Ideas and Publications, Database of Professionals and Scientists,
Recruitment, Thousands of people will learn IT tools and techniques, Open Source CMS for Scientific
Blogging and Networking, possible collaboration with TED.com for CIS via our members.
Long term aim of project is to create Scientific and Professional Virtual Community, High Level
Educational Center, Virtual Conference Center Printed Publications Based on our Blog Community
(magazines, weekly), TV & Radio programs, etc. one of final results can be private club for Scientists
and Professionals from former USSR member who believe in new world values and have willingness
to learn them and implement. Aim of club will be to give new value of scientific content of former
USSR and try to find ways of integration with new world.
Starting from June 2009 iCity LLC with its partners for testing purposes did 7 (with 2-3 days duration
each) pilot trainings for 100 users and result was nearly 30 blogs on http://www.TheArmenia.com
blog-community (http://old.thearmenia.com about trainings) thousands of readers, fan page on
Facebook with 1200 members, etc. Our partners are Banadzev Production, Armenian Project
Managers Association (APMA), Armenian Association for Academic Partnership and Support

(ARMACAD), Federation of Youth Clubs (FYCA), European Movement in Armenia, School of Young
Leaders (SYL), supporters are HD Studio and Common Ground, nearly 50 volunteers, etc. Great and
enthusiastic team who believe that project is really interesting and important nowadays. This team
can take responsibility for successful start of main development of School and be involved in
development of future steps of project. During 2009 and 2010 media
(http://thearmenia.com/?page_id=102) and our team did their best to do really very good PR of our
School, we had meetings with many funds, scientific centers, public and private organizations to get
agreement for future development. Best result is agreement with Ministry of Economy of Armenia for
future collaboration. To conclude I can say that this project is really having very positive influence on
our society and it is already very popular even being in testing period.
BE NE F I TS
Project can be developed in rural areas of involved countries (e.g. for Armenia it could be Gyumri,
Tatev, etc.) with nice nature; that will have two advantages; low labor prices and chance to have
influence on development of rural areas. Head office can be located in Yerevan.
RI SK S
Risks are; information and scientific content which is closed in most countries and we should be very
careful to not go beyond of their interests, we must collaborate with governments of countries as well
as with institutes and scientific centers. There are other risks too, e.g. lake of internet in targeted
places, etc.
TI ME L IN E
1-12 months
o Design of corporate image of the school and printed materials, recruitment, inauguration,
creating a database of scientists, experts and scientific organizations, the creation of server
training and selection of bloggers to create partnerships with research organizations,
development of new CMS science blog MU, Symposium
13-24 months
o Development of new modules, CMS scientific blog MU, the completion of testing CMS
science blog MU, tools for the integration of CMS to the various social networks,
development of tools for conferences and training courses, training of scientists and the
choice of bloggers, business plan (to be wider media (TV and radio, print, etc..)), Symposium
